VIDEO: Hands-On with the Sprint Evo 4G
Mar 29th
At CTIA in Las Vegas, Sprint made a huge announcement that got a lot of buzz – the Sprint Evo is coming .
Why all the love for this device? Besides the fact that it will be the first phone to run on a 4G network, it’s got a lot in the way of hardware goodness – a 480 x 800 4.3-inch TFT LCD, with a Snapdragon QSD8650 1GHz processor, 1GB of built-in memory and 512MB of RAM – Have I mentioned the camera? 8 megapixels with flash which is capable of shooting in 720p. It also offers a 1.3 megapixel forward facing camera for all of the Twitpic-ing I know you tweeps like to do.
Simply put – the Sprint Evo 4G is stacked and will be headed our way this summer.
Recently, we went behind the scenes with Sprint to get a first hand look at this amazing little device. Check it out.

TeleNav CTIA Recap
Apr 10th
Phew! We are still recuperating from all the activity last week at the CTIA Wireless conference in Las Vegas. It was an extremely busy week with a lot of great news. We’re pretty proud of our accomplishments from the event. Not only did we launch TeleNav GPS Navigator on the BlackBerry App World but we also won two awards at the show:
- Well-known wireless analyst Andy Seybold named our TeleNav Shotgun as the Most Innovative Mobile Device to launch in 2008. What a great honor – we were up against some tough competition. Mr. Seybold said that TeleNav Shotgun is a ‘must have’ for business travelers.
- Sprint and TeleNav won First Place for TeleNav Vehicle Manager in the CTIA E-Tech awards. The category was Enterprise and Vertical – General Business Solution. We’re really excited about our collaborative effort with Sprint on this product.
Besides the awards, our CEO, HP Jin, also spoke on the conference’s location-based services (LBS) panel along with executives from companies like Google and Virgin Mobile. The topic was “Commercializing LBS.” Here’s one reporter’s summary of the key discussion points.
If you went to the show and we didn’t see you, let us know. We hope to see you at the next one!

It looks like it’s going to be an interesting conference – we’re looking forward to all of the announcements and networking with some of the great industry minds.
If you’re at the event, be sure to stop by the Location-based Services (LBS) and Mobile Web panel session which is tomorrow at 3:30pm in Room 2006. Our CEO, HP Jin, will be discussing how LBS is helping to boost the usability of the Mobile Web. Other panelists include representatives from RIM, ESPN and Cisco.
We’ll also be showing off our services in TeleAtlas’ booth on the exhibit floor. Stop by and say hi – it’s booth #717.
