BlackBerry Quick Fixes: GPS Signal Weak or Unable to Reach Server

By Nicole Verrett

So we all know how perfect it is to use TeleNav GPS Navigator on your Blackberry.  It brings you to your destination with audible turn by turn directions, you can search for businesses, it gives you traffic updates I could go on and on, about how “perfect” it is. That is why you are proud user of our perfect product, TeleNav GPS Navigator. Okay, okay well nothing is ever perfect, however we do strive for the best.

Well I wanted to you help you out by answering some of your common questions in those not so perfect times. While using TeleNav GPS Navigator on your Blackberry you may have seen the errors “GPS Signal Weak” or “Unable to reach server.” Do not fret.  These just mean either a GPS connection or Data Connection was not obtained at the time of the request. To help eliminate these errors make sure your device has a clear view of the sky and/or you are in an area with network coverage.

I have provided some basic troubleshooting steps that you can perform if you ever come across these messages.

For “GPS signal weak”
Options > Advanced Options > GPS > Press Menu button > select Refresh GPS

For “Unable to reach server”
Options > Advanced Options > Applications > TeleNav > Edit Permissions > Allow all

I hope my brief FAQ’s will help make your TeleNav GPS Navigator experience that much smoother or dare I say it…perfect!

If you ever need more help or have more questions you can always call our friendly support staff that are available to you 24/7 at 888-353-6284.

If you’ve missed previous posts from this week, we’ve been giving away a one-year subscription to TeleNav GPS Navigator each day (or one of the navigation applications from our carrier partners) in support of the launch of TeleNav GPS Navigator v5.5 for the recently launched Verizon BlackBerry Tour.

TeleNav GPS Navigator transforms your phone into a full-featured navigation device, complete with onscreen and spoken turn-by-turn directions, real-time traffic information with one button rerouting, more than 10 million points of interest, the ability to set traffic alerts so you know what traffic is like on your commute home before getting in the car, and the comfort of knowing you’re always navigating on the most up-to-date maps available. For a 30-day trial, visit our online store.

Thanks again to everyone for participating in the contest. Here’s our final trivia question. The first person to comment on this blog with the correct answer will win the prize.

Here’s today’s trivia question. The first person to comment on this blog with the correct answer will win the prize.

TeleNav Tour de BlackBerry Day Three

If you’ve been following the TeleNav blog this week, you know that we’ve been holding TeleNav Tour de BlackBerry week in support of the launch of TeleNav GPS Navigator v5.5 for the new Verizon BlackBerry Tour. Well, the fun continues today as we’re giving away another one-year subscription to TeleNav GPS Navigator (or one of the turn-by-turn applications from our carrier partners) to the first person to correctly answer a Tour de France trivia question.

In the earlier posts from this week, we mentioned many of the features included in TeleNav GPS Navigator v5.5, so today we thought it might be best to show you the application in action on the Verizon BlackBerry Tour. We set out last week on a trip to a local Starbucks here in Sunnyvale and took a video camera along to demonstrate how quickly and easily TeleNav GPS Navigator turns the Tour into a full-featured GPS device. We posted the video on YouTube, so go check it out here. If you’re impressed by what you see, visit our online store for a 30-day trial and to purchase TeleNav GPS Navigator for your phone.

And now for today’s trivia question. The first person to comment with the correct answer wins.

  1. What is the total distance (in kilometers) cyclists in the 2009 Tour de France will cover from start to finish?

Good luck and visit the blog tomorrow for another chance to win.
