Posted by Todd Witkemper in TeleNav News
Today marks the final day of Tour de BlackBerry Week on the TeleNav blog. We’ve really enjoyed hosting the daily contest and setting the winners up with TeleNav GPS Navigator on their phones. If you’ve missed previous posts from this week, we’ve been giving away a one-year subscription to TeleNav GPS Navigator each day (or one of the navigation applications from our carrier partners) in support of the launch of TeleNav GPS Navigator v5.5 for the recently launched Verizon BlackBerry Tour.
TeleNav GPS Navigator transforms your phone into a full-featured navigation device, complete with onscreen and spoken turn-by-turn directions, real-time traffic information with one button rerouting, more than 10 million points of interest, the ability to set traffic alerts so you know what traffic is like on your commute home before getting in the car, and the comfort of knowing you’re always navigating on the most up-to-date maps available. For a 30-day trial, visit our online store.
Thanks again to everyone for participating in the contest. Here’s our final trivia question. The first person to comment on this blog with the correct answer will win the prize.
- Including this year’s race, how many total Tour de France races have been held?
Good luck and thanks again to everyone who participated this week. We’ll have more contests on the blog, so keep reading!

Posted by Todd Witkemper in TeleNav News
If you’ve been following the TeleNav blog this week, you know that we’ve been holding TeleNav Tour de BlackBerry week in support of the launch of TeleNav GPS Navigator v5.5 for the new Verizon BlackBerry Tour. Well, the fun continues today as we’re giving away another one-year subscription to TeleNav GPS Navigator (or one of the turn-by-turn applications from our carrier partners) to the first person to correctly answer a Tour de France trivia question.
In the earlier posts from this week, we mentioned many of the features included in TeleNav GPS Navigator v5.5, so today we thought it might be best to show you the application in action on the Verizon BlackBerry Tour. We set out last week on a trip to a local Starbucks here in Sunnyvale and took a video camera along to demonstrate how quickly and easily TeleNav GPS Navigator turns the Tour into a full-featured GPS device. We posted the video on YouTube, so go check it out here. If you’re impressed by what you see, visit our online store for a 30-day trial and to purchase TeleNav GPS Navigator for your phone.
And now for today’s trivia question. The first person to comment with the correct answer wins.
- What is the total distance (in kilometers) cyclists in the 2009 Tour de France will cover from start to finish?
Good luck and visit the blog tomorrow for another chance to win.

Jul 14th

Today is the second day of Tour de BlackBerry week here on the TeleNav blog. For those of you who missed yesterday’s post, we’re giving away a one-year subscription of TeleNav GPS Navigator to the first person who answers a trivia question regarding the Tour de France. Why are we doing this you might ask?
Well, last week we announced that TeleNav GPS Navigator is available on the new Verizon BlackBerry Tour, which just launched this past Sunday, July 12. The BlackBerry Tour is certainly one of the hot phones on the market right now and by adding TeleNav GPS Navigator, you can bring a full-featured navigation experience right to your Tour complete with spoken turn-by-turn directions, real-time traffic, more than 10 million points of interest and online pre-planning capabilities. For more information on purchasing TeleNav GPS Navigator and receiving a 30-day trial, visit our online store.
Now it’s time to give away a one-year subscription of TeleNav GPS Navigator (or one of the navigation applications from our carrier partners Sprint, AT&T or Alltel). The version of the application we’ll be giving away will be determined by the model and carrier of the winning reader’s phone.
The first person to comment on this blog with the correct answer to the following Tour de France trivia question will win the prize.
1. What year did Lance Armstrong win his first Tour de France title?
Good Luck and please visit the site tomorrow for another chance to win.
Tour de BlackBerry Week Kickoff
Jul 13th
Posted by Todd Witkemper in TeleNav News
As we mentioned in last Friday’s post regarding the availability of TeleNav GPS Navigator for the new Verizon BlackBerry Tour (in stores now), we’re kicking off a week of giveaways here on the TeleNav blog. In the spirit of the Tour de France that is currently taking place and the Verizon BlackBerry Tour, it’s officially the start of TeleNav Tour de BlackBerry Week.
Although we’re very excited about the launch of the latest version of TeleNav GPS Navigator (v5.5) for the BlackBerry Tour, we don’t want to exclude anyone from the contest. So, we’re not just opening this up to those of you who purchased the Verizon BlackBerry Tour over the weekend, but to anyone who owns one of the more than 500 phones supported by our TeleNav GPS Navigator application or the navigation applications of our partners, AT&T Navigator and Sprint Navigation.
Each day this week, we’re going to give away a one-year subscription for one of the turn-by-turn navigation applications mentioned above, determined by the model and carrier of the winning reader’s phone.
The first person to comment on this blog with the correct answer to the following Tour de France trivia question will win the prize.
1. What year was the first Tour de France held?
Good luck! If you don’t win today, keep an eye out for tomorrow’s trivia question.
