TeleNav Tops New ABI Research Off-Board Handset-based Navigation Software Vendor Matrix Ranking

Author – Mary Beth Lowell – Communications Manager

Abi_researchWe found out some exciting news today. ABI Research ranked TeleNav at the top of the research firm’s Off-Board Handset-based Navigation Software (i.e. cell phone navigation) Vendor Matrix.

The vendor matrix is a tool that ABI developed to help provide a better understanding of how companies are positioned in a specific market. Companies are assessed based on innovation and implementation.

Dominique Bonte, ABI’s research director said that TeleNav has the edge due to "the launch of speech technology, a large number of agreements with carriers across all regions, and a successful combination of a branded and white label strategy."

GPS – The (Not So) Secret Sauce for Competitive Businesses

Author—H.P. Jin- President, CEO and Co-Founder

Secret_sauceWhen you think of GPS applications, you may think of navigation, child tracking, outdoor activities and maybe even criminal monitoring. You may not, however, think of businesses using GPS services. That’s because what we often see in the news or on our favorite TV show are people using GPS to drive, catch bad guys or find loved ones.

While we certainly love the fact that GPS services like TeleNav GPS Navigator are becoming more mainstream on cell phones (this was our initial vision when starting TeleNav), it has been a well-kept secret for several years that many businesses are using GPS technologies as well.

The good news, from my perspective, is that this "secret" is starting to get more industry and media attention. For example, just this week, ABI Research published a report stating that over the next five years, an increasing number of enterprise organizations will deploy mobile solutions to "reduce costs, increase efficiency and improve customer service."

This report is no surprise to us since we have provided enterprise organizations with TeleNav Track and TeleNav GPS Navigator for several years. Even before the current increase in gas prices, many companies discovered immediate ROI with GPS solutions as it quickly and easily allowed them to improve operations and customer satisfaction. As Sal mentioned in his post earlier this week, with gas prices now on the rise, companies have an even bigger incentive to analyze their operations and determine if GPS can help keep costs down during this turbulent economy.

GPS is helping many companies – small and large – save money, improve customer service and stay competitive. So the secret is out and my question to you is, are you making the most of GPS in your business?
