We continue to work with Apple on a fix for the issues we have experienced with our recent Telenav GPS and Telenav GPS Plus updates on the Apple App Store. We know this has affected some iPhone 4S and iPad customers and we appreciate your continued patience.

In the meantime, if you have not had a chance to try the workaround for downloading the app that we have outlined here, I ask that you please try this as it has restored service back to normal for many customers.

We also want to make sure you know that we are offering you a free year of Scout Plus by Telenav ($24.99 retail value). This version includes access to many premium features including spoken turn by turn directions, traffic rerouting, lane assist, speed trap and red light camera alerts, and offline navigation. Note: Your $.99 initial purchase will not be reimbursed.

  • When you download and launch Scout Plus for the first time, please register or sign in with your name and a valid email address.
  • After doing this, the first and primary option you will see is a button to select “Get Scout Plus FREE for 1 Year” (SEE RIGHT). Please select this option. Once you have done so, you will automatically receive Scout Plus for one year, free of charge.

For those of you who have already signed up for the 30 day trial after August 18th, your accounts have already been extended for a year (or will be within a few days). No additional action is necessary on your part.

    I have always loved my Telenav GPS app. But, has been very frustrating and basically unusable since the last update and I truly hope you guys are able to fix it very soon.

    In the meantime, thank you very much for the free work around with Scout. I will download immediately.

    Scout appears to be working fine. 1) Is this a replacement to Telenav? 2) Should I uninstall Telenav?

    So happy to see there is a temp replacement!!! I couldn’t get Telenav to work properly a few weeks ago and ended up stuck on a highway going the wrong direction for over an hour. That is a gas killer!

    I’m really starting to get ticked. I purchased the premium upgrade for my phone and suddenly it just disappears WHILE I am driving through an unknown area causing me to get lost and be late for an appt. Ok so stuff happens but u don’t tell me I have to come FIND u even though you had my phone info when I PAID u so I go to download the Scout and its NOT applicable to my freaking Android phone!

    How do I retrieve my refund for the $9.99 I payed for the voice navigation?

      Was wondering how I get the $9.99 I paid for the voice telenav navigation app. I just purchased it in August and now it doesn’t work since the last update….(as you well know by the 3000plus negative comments)… I really liked it so I hope the Scot works as well.

    My Telenav for iPhone had a different issue on my 4s. The address would be found, but the app froze up while attempting to navigate to destination.

    I called tech support and they were very helpful. Seems that the app is fraught with issues on that phone, so the above fix is the answer.

    It was free to download the Scout app for iPhone and set it up.

    it works fine now.

    I’ll be curious to see what they charge us for Scout (or an updated Telenav) at the end of the 1-year free membership.

    Telenav, you really disappointed me last night! You kept me on the same location for 15-20 minutes coming and going from my destination! At one point you caught up with me, but then I heard nothing more from you. I have an LG, T-Mobile myTouch with AndroidSmart Phone. How will Scout be different or the same as Telenav?

    Had no idea our GPS was not working – would have been nice to get notified. I have been trying to use since last update and was stuck out of state having to pull over for directions due to it “loading” forever and then just crashing. I appreciate the free app in the meantime. Please somehow e-mail us and let us know when the TeleNav is back up & running right. I loved it! Thank you

    I don’t know what you have done on the last update on telenav for the iphone but your product doesnt want to ever work and it is extremely aggrivating especially when you spend 9.99 on an app!!!!

    Hello,
    I appreciate having Scout as it has been good for a backup. Right now, sometimes Telenav will work, but sometimes it freezes when loading the navigation.
    My Scout account settings say that my subscription will end Sept 18, 2012. I was one of the early ones to get Scout with the 30 day free button. I’m concerned that the plus features will disappear after Sept 18 and I need to be sure to have access to reliable gps throughout Sept.
    Can you tell me if the plus features (turn by turn navigation audio, etc) will continue after Sept 18 even though it says it expires? I need to have a back up plan. GPS is a lifeline for me because I get lost so easily.

      Hi Lynsay – We don’t automatically renew when a subscription is coming to an end. Before it does, you’ll receive an in-app notification asking you if you’d like to renew or continue with the free version.

    Hey, I just saw this offer and downloaded right away, but the offer wasn’t available anymore. When you guys said it would end on the 21st, I thought you meant at the end of the day…

    Is there anyway to still get the free year offer?

      Hi Matt – We’ve actually extended this offer so I’m not certain you’re not seeing it, unless you’ve already used a 30-day demo. This offer is only available for new customers.

      Can you uninstall/reinstall Scout and create new Scout account using a secondary email address? Let me know if this works.

    Hi, I am also trying to sign-up today, 9/21 and it only gives me the option for 30-days free, $2.99 or $9.99… why can I not see the free year? Mine was a brand new sign-up…..Please help!!

    This is the umpteenth time I have tried to get resolution, I downloaded Scout and the account is active and the expiration date is in 2013. The voice navigation worked the first time, but no longer works. I uninstalled and reinstalled, then it worked again the first time, but when I open the application again, it will scout a location but again, no voice navigation.
    Please help me before I go crazy!

      Hi Shelley – We don’t automatically renew. When a subscription is coming to an end, we’ll prompt you in the app, asking whether or not you’d like to renew or continue with free navigation.
