Win a Free TeleNav Shotgun with One Year of Service!

Looking for something that will help you beat those post-holiday blues? How about the latest and greatest GPS device – FREE – with one year of connected service?

We’ve teamed up with Mobility Today and Tele Atlas to giveaway a free TeleNav Shotgun with one year of TeleNav Connected Service to the person who can come up with the best video showing why TeleNav Shotgun should be in every car and beats every other standalone GPS device. Since it’s a connected device with real-time access to traffic alerts, gas prices, business reviews, updated maps and more, it shouldn’t be too hard to come up with some creative entries.

Read up on TeleNav Shotgun here and then click over to Mobility Today and post the link to your YouTube video.

Good luck!

TeleNav GPS Navigator Available on the T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8900

T-Mobile has officially announced that the T-Mobile BlackBerry Curve 8900 will be available to consumers on Feb. 11 for $199 with a two-year T-Mobile contract.

So far it is getting some great reviews and we’re excited about this device as well because it will come with built-in GPS and TeleNav GPS Navigator capabilities.

T-Mobile also recently launched the Sony Ericsson TM-506 in Scarlet. This phone also supports TeleNav GPS Navigator.

Stay tuned for more third party reviews on TeleNav and if you end up getting one for yourself, let us know what you think!

Looking for the Next ‘Killer’ TeleNav Feature – You Talk, We Listen

I spent some time the other day reading through posts from TeleNav GPS Navigator customers on our TeleNav User Forum.

I ran into an interesting post from a customer calling himself ‘NavBOB.’ He titled his post Four Features to Make TeleNav a ‘Killer App.’

While we might take exception to his argument that it isn’t already the killer app :), we are certainly open to the feedback and I can honestly tell you that our development team always proactively looks for good, constructive feedback from customers.

NavBOB’s four requests are (with my comments in italics next to them):

  1. Add Bluetooth support for both headset and car’s handsfreeI’m guessing he means allow for audio through the car’s speaker. It’s not available yet on TeleNav GPS Navigator but, in case you missed it, it will be available through Ford SYNC navigation later this year.
  2. Add the ability to avoid toll roads during navigation - This preference is now available through AT&T Navigator, powered by TeleNav and may be available in the future on TeleNav GPS Navigator.
  3. Allow pre-planning with multiple along the way stops (waypoints) - We have something similar to this called ‘Search Along the Route’ which allows you to search for businesses along your current route. This is great, for example, if you need to stop and get gas but don’t want to go too far out of your way.
  4. Add more keypad shortcutsThis is a great idea. We do implement some shortcuts (depending on device) but are always looking for more opportunities to make it user-friendly for customers.

Thanks NavBOB for the ideas.

If TeleNav GPS Navigator is not a ‘Killer App’ for you yet, what features would you ask us to add in order to get it there?

Today we announced that TeleNav Shotgun, our connected GPS navigation device for business travelers, is sporting some new features to make traveling even easier.

TeleNav Shotgun now includes mileage tracking and business reviews/ratings.

Mileage tracking allows customers the ability to track miles driven using their TeleNav Shotgun. A driver can record mileage on specific routes or can simply start and stop tracking miles at any time when receiving turn-by-turn navigation or while in ‘follow me’ map mode. Later, from their PC, they can log into My TeleNav and download reports in Excel or Adobe – making expense reporting so much easier.

We also launched business reviews so users can now look up reviews and ratings on places like restaurants, hotels, shopping malls, bakeries, grocery stores, hospitals and museums. They can also rate the businesses themselves directly from their TeleNav Shotgun.

If you are a current TeleNav Shotgun customer and are subscribing to TeleNav Connected Service, these new features will be added to your device automatically. That’s one of the key benefits of the connected device!
Don’t forget – all new customers receive three months of free TeleNav Connected Service!
Try the new features out and let us know what you think!
