TeleNav Sponsors Sprint’s True American Hero Benefit
Feb 29th
Author – Mary Beth Lowell – Communications Manager

Last
weekend, we were proud to sponsor Sprint’s True American Hero Benefit
in Sarasota, FL which honored the memory of 16 fallen Florida law
enforcement officers. First responders and motorcycle riders from all
over the Sarasota area participated in the 45-mile ride which was
hosted by Sprint Nextel and the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office.
The America’s Most Wanted crew was there and the ride was led and MC’d by the show’s host, John Walsh.
TeleNav
employees volunteered to help monitor a few of the riders, including
John Walsh, through their GPS-enabled Sprint Nextel phones. We donated
a few TeleNav Track accounts which allowed us to watch the progress of the riders in real-time.
It
was great to be a part of this event. Proceeds from the ride were
donated to the True American Hero Fund in memory of the officers.

We are happy to announce the latest addition to our Mobile Resource Management (MRM) product portfolio. Today, we launched TeleNav Vehicle Tracker, a GPS-enabled ‘black box’ that gives companies a hassle-free method for monitoring and managing their fleets.
TeleNav Vehicle Tracker is hard-wired or embedded onto the vehicle battery, eliminating the need for human interaction with the actual device. Managers simply log into a password protected Web site and can see the location of their vehicles, updated every two minutes. Companies can set vehicle usage policies and if an employee violates a certain rule, managers are notified via email and SMS on their mobile phone. TeleNav Vehicle Tracker also captures the daily, state-by-state mileage of each mobile asset, helping organizations meet compliance requirements and monitor productivity.
More information on the new product can be found here, or by contacting sales@telenav.com.

We believe our carrier partners are on the leading edge of LBS innovation and applaud efforts such as this to make GPS navigation part of every consumer’s daily life.
Oil closes above $100 a barrel, watch the gas prices

Like many news organizations, USA Today ran a story this morning about the rising cost of oil. According to the story, oil closed above $100 a barrel for the first time in history on Tuesday. Experts believe this could push the US average for a tank of gas to $3.75 a gallon by Memorial Day, also another record high. As of today, the average across the US is $3.042 a gallon.
So, what does this mean for consumers? Well, for one, we all need to keep a close eye on the pumps and make smart decisions when filling up. TeleNav GPS Navigator customers have a slight advantage over other consumers. Fuel Finder gives you the ability to locate the most affordable gas and get directions right to the station. Fuel prices are updated daily in order to help you find the best deals around town.
